Backing Up Tumblr via Python

So I'm going to try to pull a few things that should never have been tumblr only especially, but since folks have been getting pretty good results with the Python Method (link via seperis from niqaeli ), I thought I'd give it a try. No one's i've seen has had as large of an archive as me, so... that's a concern. but damnit, 5 years of my life, even when it's mostly stupid memes, is a long time. 

I was still married, for fucks sake.

Notes for the less back end inclined:

1. When installing Python, double check that ALL the install options are selected. Path (the last one) was not installed when I tried the first time. Had to uninstall and then try again.
2. Where you extract the bbolli-tumblr-utils folder is going to be where your backup ends up. I highly recommend pulling out your external drive, plugging it in, creating a new folder, and tossing the bbolli in there.
   1. to change discs in command prompt, just type the drive letter 
   2. so my folder path is "f:\tumblr backups\bbolli-tumblr-utils-XXXXXX
3. If you're uncertain about your internet connection and/or how long it's going to take, you can add additional instructions to your cmd prompt line to make sure you only get certain things (for instance, i'm doing mine year by year since it is so huge) so my command prompt ends up being "python tumblr_backup.py USERNAME -p 2013" You can also do tags or likes or whatever. niqaeli has a list of options on her page

I hope this helps folks who don't do this regularly enough to know what they're doing.

Finally managed to do it today. With help of the video that was linked I was able to do it. It still runs (decided to do all at once since is via LAN). Thanks again for the link and the offer to help. It was easier than I thought.
